ANNAPOLIS, MD — A tutu party is coming to downtown Annapolis this Tuesday. The free festivities will feature ballerinas, music and costume prizes. The event, known as Tutu Tuesday, will take place on West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street. The activities will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is the make-up date for the party, which was rained out last month. Tutu Tuesday was originally planned to celebrate Tuesday, February 22, 2022. That was the day with the most common digits that will happen in this lifetime. The rain date will be exactly one month later on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. "Create your best Tutu Costume and come join everyone for a night of music, food, fun, performances and laughs," planners from the Inner West Street Association said on Facebook. "Bring the family and enjoy a bite from the restaurants!" Ballerina performances start at 6 p.m. The Academy Ballet School of Annapolis, the Ballet Theatre of Maryland and the Greater Annapolis Ballet will all take the stage. Tutu judging begins at 7 p.m. for these categories: Most Outrageous TutuBest Dancer in a TutuBest Tutu CoupleBest Tutu FamilyBest Longest TutuBest Shortest TutuBest Tutu Dressed PetBest Group Performance Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Naptown Brass will kick it off with New Orleans-style street jazz.
