Description
Looking for an experienced lead guitarist for a local classic rock/pop band. The current band members (drums, bass, female lead singer) are all older and experienced. YOU don't have to be older, or male, or anything else except you have to be a player, not a learner. We want to be able to get up to speed and play out quickly. Singing is a plus but is not required.
I think you need to like the songs we're doing - we are structuring this band around the lead singer, so we need someone willing to work in that framework. Our singer knows what she's good at. And she's very good.
Here are six songs we'd like you to learn for the audition. FYI we're playing the studio versions of these songs, not live versions - we'll get up to speed faster if everyone's on the same page.
Heartbreaker - Pat Benetar
Brass In Pocket - The Pretenders
You're no good - Linda Ronstadt
I Hate Myself For Loving You - Joan Jett
Celebrity Skin - Hole
Barracuda - Heart
And here are some other songs we do -
Lights/Stay Awhile - Journey
You Oughta Know - Morrisette
I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
What Is And What Should Never Be - Zeppelin
Take Me Down - The Pretty Reckless
Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall
Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall
Say You Love Me - Fleetwood Mac
Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac
Chain Gang - Pretenders
BTW we practice at a studio on James Island. We pay about $15 each, every time we practice there. YOU will not have to pay anything to audition, of course.
Also, you don't need to bring a 50 watt tube amp with you - you won't need to be super loud, this will be an audition, not a performance.
We plan on playing out 3-5 times a month. We want to sound GOOD, make some money, and have fun while we're doing it.
If you'd like to audition with us, or if you have any questions, please reply to this ad. My name is Dan.
