UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Police are warning women to secure their valuables and lock their vehicles after recent Felony Lane Gang activity in the South Hills. Gang members are believed to have targeted two fitness centers, Orange Theory Fitness in Upper St. Clair and Burn Boot Camp in Bethel Park. According to the FBI, the Felony Lane Gang is a group of thieves based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that travels across the United States stealing identities and checkbooks from unattended cars. With the stolen checkbooks and driver's licenses, the gang cashes checks using the drive through lane of banks. The farthest lane from video cameras and tellers have been dubbed the "felony lane" because of how easily false identities can be used to cash checks. "This group had previously been in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Dayton, and South Carolina," a post on the Bethel Park Police Department Facebook page stated. "They target gyms, malls, parks and daycare centers, where women are likely to leave their purses in their car."
