Proof Of Vaccination, Negative COVID Test Lifted At United Center

CHICAGO — Fans attending sporting events or concerts at the United Center will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test effective immediately, officials announced on Tuesday. The home of the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks had maintained its policy of requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test even after Chicago city officials lifted the city's mask and proof of vaccination requirement on February 28. The removal of the requirement comes just in time as the United Center will host the NCAA men's basketball tournament's Midwest Regional with games this weekend. Tournament games will be played at the United Center on Friday and Sunday. The Bulls will not play at United Center until they host the Clippers on March 31 while the Blackhawks host the Buffalo Sabres on March 28. Masks remain optional for fans. Arena officials announced that the policy will remain in place until further notice, but said that in some cases, the NBA and NHL may require additional health and safety protocols for fans attending events.
