REDONDO BEACH, CA — A crash involving at least seven cars in Torrance Wednesday left four people hurt and blocked several street lanes for more than four hours.
The crash occurred about 7:40 a.m. at Crenshaw Boulevard and 181st Street, Torrance police Sgt. Alexander Martinez said.
The driver of a silver 2007 Nissan Murano was heading north on Crenshaw approaching 181st Street and rear-ended a 2014 Lexus, according to Martinez. The Nissan veered into opposing traffic and collided with five more vehicles, Martinez said.
Two Torrance men, aged 37 and 19, were taken to hospitals with major injuries suffered in the crash, Martinez said. Two other people suffered minor injuries. It was unclear which vehicles the injured people were in.
North and southbound lanes on Crenshaw were shut down for about 4 1/2 hours for the investigation, the sergeant said.
Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call Torrance police at 310-328-3456.
