Be our seasonal Pumpout Coordinator at Friends of Casco Bay Friends of Casco Bay seeks a dynamic Pumpout Coordinator to run our pumpout vessel and engage boaters in our Healthy Habits for Casco Bay program. Friends of Casco Bay is a community-based, marine advocacy, nonprofit organization located in South Portland, Maine. We work to improve and protect the health of Casco Bay by monitoring the health of the Bay and engaging people in actions that reduce pollution and help make the Bay resilient to climate change. The Pumpout Coordinator must be a skilled and experienced boat captain, able to operate a twin engine outboard powered boat with bow thrusters. The Pumpout Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and performing pumpout services and maintaining accurate billing records. The Coordinator also will act as an ambassador for our work on the water. This is a seasonal position, ideally from mid-May to mid-October. Casco Bay is a federally-designated No Discharge Zone. Boaters cannot dump sewage in the Bay. Friends of Casco Bay’s pumpout service provides a convenient and environmentally-friendly way for boaters to properly dispose of their sewage.
