FLEMINGTON, NJ — The results are in! Check to see how the Flemington-Raritian Regional Public School District did on the renamed versions of the controversial PARCC exam, the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments. Here are the results for the Berkeley Heights Public School District, divided into test category, grade level, percentage of students meeting expectations, and their test scores: Algebra I State rank: 3rd, 98.5 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 794 Geometry No students failed to meet expectations for this exam. The mean scale score was 789 3rd grade math State rank: 169th, 69 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 766 4th grade math State rank: 50th, 79.1 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 771 5th grade math State rank: 160th, 62.6 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 756 6th grade math State rank: 77th, 64.9 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 760 7th grade math State rank: 89th, 65.2 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 756 8th grade math State rank: 93rd, 49.9 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 756 3rd grade English State rank: 276th, 53.9 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 752 4th grade English State rank: 201st, 68.6 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 762 5th grade English State rank: 241st, 65.2 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 759 6th grade English State rank: 166th, 71.8 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 765 7th grade English State rank: 181st, 75.4 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 768 8th grade English State rank: 170th, 75.9 percent of students met expectations, mean scale score: 778 The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment uses the same computer-based platform used for PARCC and draws on the same bank of test questions. Indeed, the NJSLA results in English and math are comparable to the previous years' PARCC results. However, the biggest difference between this assessment and PARCC is that it's now approximately 25 percent shorter and the number of questions has been reduced.
