Job description Plant Perks is a rapidly growing disruptor plant-based food brand in Missoula, MT. We produce Organic cashew based food products and are currently distributed in over 40 states and 1200+ locations and growing quickly. We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking and passionate individual to work in our production facility making plant-based foods for 1000's of people to enjoy each month. We are looking for part-time with the ability to work-full time as our production schedule for the week dictates. We operate M-F 8-5 and new hire would work 24-32 hours regularly but need to have the abilty to work up to 40 hours on busy weeks. Our new hire would be integral to the growth of the company and someone who likes to adapt to growth and change with a small but expanding startup. Benefits: Plant Perks offers paid time off, healthcare, dental, and vision after once an employee reaches an average of 32 hours per week. This position will be 24-40 hours per week depending on our production schedule so there will be the opportunity to earn benefits after requirements are met. As a Cheezemaker you will be directly involved in making the product. You will learn how to ferment, flavor and package artisanal plant-based cheeze and dips with other products to come. Job Description Summary: The position works under the direction of the Production Manager. This role assists the Production Manager and fellow Cheezemakers with ensuring the cheeze spreads are made in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to work as part of a team is essential. Attendance is an essential function of this job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Set up and sanitize the kitchen in preparation to make cheeze. - Wash dishes. - Make cheeze in a safe and efficient manner, while following instructions from management. - Learn proper steps of fermentation, pH and how to safely make a "living food." - Learn and understand proper kitchen sanitation and safety. - Clean, sanitize and properly put away kitchen equipment after use. - Package cheezes. - Maintain a sanitary environment while in the kitchen. - Be able to lift 40-70 pounds during every shift. Qualifications: - Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. - Previous work experience in a food manufacturing environment or kitchen preferred. - High attention to details; able to work quickly and accurately. - Be able to work set hours and be willing to adapt to changes in orders and tasks. - Be reliable and dependable in attendance. - Multi task and manage multiple demands and priorities. Communication: - Active listening skills. Builds and maintains relationships easily. - Is approachable, empathetic, and compassionate. - Works easily with diverse styles and people from different backgrounds. - Can comfortably give and receive personal feedback. - Able to confront issues and conflict in a constructive and productive manner. - Demonstrates patience and a calm, reassuring manner; shows composure, even in the face of frustration and mounting pressure. - Cooperates easily with peers and others. - Can collaborate across organizational boundaries. Work Environment: - Able to withstand working on your feet for long periods of time, while lifting heavy kitchen equipment and ingredients. - Able to thrive in a redundant environment while making the same product, in the exact same manner every week.
