Construction Noise Bothers Western Springs Residents

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs police have received several complaints about overnight noise from the Interstate 294 construction project, the village said in a Facebook post Thursday. "Unfortunately, tollway and bridge construction noise occurring outside of Village-approved times does not constitute a violation of our ordinances,"the village said in the post. "The work is being done on the tollway's property and therefore is not a violation of the municipal code enforceable by the police department." The village said it was notified that this aspect of the project involving night work is slated to continue through Sunday, weather permitting. Residents are urged to visit the page on the village's website on noise restrictions.
