Falconry Experience over the beach You will help us free fly our falcons on the cliffs of La Jolla at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, a National Historical Place and beloved landmark. In our Experience, offered through Total Raptor Experience San Diego, you'll learn how to call and release one of our trained birds using a falconry glove, and admire their aerial skills while they soar above the cliffs. You'll get an up-close and personal view of their mastery of flight as they perform simulated hunting behaviors, swooping, ground-skimming and diving at high speed after a moving target. At the same time we will discuss raptor flight styles and how they contribute to the diverse ecologies of different types of hawks and falcons. There will be plenty of time for questions and pictures with our birds. My hope is to send you home with a new, or perhaps renewed, love for these majestic predators and the environment. The experience is ideal for special occasions and corporate team building. For private experiences please feel free to contact us. The experience lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and there is some standing involved, we can always provide a chair, just let us know in advance. The Gliderport has a good cafe and free parking. Bring camera and sunscreen. COVID-19: we''ll follow the current recommendations from the State of California and we will provide hand sanitizer.
