Join us in the gallery to learn how to make a Japanese moss ball, also known as "kokedama"! What is kokedama? Kokedama is a form of Japanese garden art. Moss and soil are mixed together and wrapped with fern and twine to create a base for your plant. The centuries-old tradition is making a comeback in the garden community and the instructors from The Hive are so excited to share it with you! When you're finished, show off your masterpiece in any hanging planter or in a clear bowl! Instructors from local Charlottesville business, The Hive Art + Craft Bar, will provide all the materials and instruction needed to create your own Japanese moss ball.
