Join the Friends of Government Canyon for a guided hike to who knows where??? Join us for a mystery hike! This hike will be approximately 6 miles in length. Who is Invited: Open to ages 12 and older; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please. When & Where to Meet: Meet at the Visitors Center by the rainwater tower. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00 AM. Plan to be at the Visitors Center and ready to go no later than 8:15 AM; the hike starts promptly at 8:30 AM. What to Wear & Bring: Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack. Requirements: Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Participants need to be able to hike approximately 6 miles over rugged, rocky trails with elevation gain and loss. Registration, Fees & Cancellation: Registration is required! Group size is limited. Registration opens the Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event. Sorry, no group reservations. Natural Area entry fees apply. This hike is subject to cancellation.
