Genre-blending anti-fascist black metal act seeking second guitarist

We’re Threnodist, an Oakland-based metal act that’s rooted in genre-blending black metal. We’re currently seeking a second guitar player to round out our lineup, and we’d love for it to be you! Some of our biggest influences include (but are not limited to) Deafheaven, Alcest, Wolves In The Throne Room, Katatonia, Between the Buried & Me, and The Contortionist. We’ve just finished recording our first demo and are gearing up into songwriting mode to finish writing and recording our first album. We would ideally like to play gigs and tour at some point as well. We are a collective and prefer to write our songs as a group, with every member’s voice being held in equal regard and accolades and support shared evenly among us. This is a project rooted in love and passion, both for music as well as other people, and as such, we would like to be upfront about the following. What we are looking for in a second guitarist: Our songs are written for seven string guitars, and we are looking for someone who has one and is comfortable playing it. Knowledge of music theory is a huge plus, but not a requirement! We are based in and practice in West Oakland/Emeryville and would like someone local and able to commute. We’re looking for someone dedicated to practicing and writing regularly, and we are actively recruiting people who can commit to the schedule we would like to keep. Our collective values the following: We are firmly anti-fascist and anti-racist. You should share similar political ideals of reform and social justice. We are extremely LGBTQIAA+ friendly. No TERFs/Transphobes. It is immediately disqualifying. If you hide it and it are later found out, any working/personal relationship will be immediately terminated. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. This is not open for debate. We believe in science and understand the state of the global pandemic, and have actively taken steps to protect ourselves and others around us. You must be fully vaccinated (initial doses + boosters.) This is not open for debate.
