NO inexperienced persons please
\I have a 2003 mariner 225 hp EFI outboard that typically runs great, good compression, confirmed at over 110 consistent in all cylinders etc., it keeps going into limp mode, driving me nuts, so far no one has come forward to find how to bypass this, so I can use this engine, all Im looking for is for it to not go into limp mode, Im planning on running pre mix anyway, or repair the auto oil injection, all parts are there, and fyi, its not the oil tank sensor if that's what your thinking, which is a very common issue with these apparently there are many things that can cause this, I am a retired import car tech, but know a limited amount on the electrics of these pain in the ass engines,,,,,I went through all that, tried to ground this and check that, but no dice, initially it starts with no lights or buzzer, if you bypass the float switch in the engine oil tank, but then after about 30 seconds oil light blinks and 4 beeps in a row, and limp mode,, ^*%^&*^&* aggravating,
Ill give a tech 1200 in cash, I dont care how quick or long it takes however the repair must be done, and confirmed, what is happening is if I disconnect the battery I take the boat out, runs good, then goes into limp mode and Im unable to accelerate as the engine control unit shuts down half the engine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so that's the deal,
engine is at my house on my boat sw cape any takers?, does anyone in Florida know these engines?
