Learn about the culture and spirituality of the Narragansett people
Join us for a private tour of the Tomaquag Museum, followed by a presentation from Lorén M. Spears, Executive Director of the museum. We will have a chance to learn about the history, culture, and spirituality of the Narragansett people whose ancestral land encompasses the entire state.
Ms. Spears is a member of the Narragansett Tribe. She aspires to empower Native youth and to educate the public on Native history, culture, environment and the arts. An educator for 25 years, she has served as an adjunct faculty at Brown University and University of Rhode Island. Outside of her work in the museum, she is also an educator, activist, author, and Indigenous artist.
Space is limited to 24 people.
