Learn table saw and bandsaw techniques, maintenance, tune up and jigs from wood artist and master woodworker, Doug Pisik TABLE SAWS AND BANDSAWS During this free event, full-time wood artist, Doug Pisik, will teach you the basic and advanced uses of these tools. Included will be information on basic tune up and maintenance, general use, and advanced jigs and techniques. This will be an interactive presentation with plenty of time for Q&A and input from participants. For new woodworkers, this presentation will give you the info you need to use these powerful tools. Advanced woodworkers will learn a few tricks and techniques to step-up their game in the workshop. Doug Pisik is a nationally recognized artist who specializes in creating wood sculptures, 3D wall pieces and intricate art boxes with complex designs both inside and out. He has been identified as a “Top Artist” by Marquis Who’s Who, received awards in many juried exhibits of national artists, been part of sixteen museum exhibitions, collaborated with other recognized artists, and has accepted large commissions including several from Home Depot, Carnival Corporation, Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre, and the Smith Gilbert Gardens. He is classified as a “Master Woodworker” from the Woodworker’s Guild of Georgia. His work is collected by Tony and Emmy award winners, movie producers, CEOs, an art museum, botanical gardens, other artists, and can be found in collections coast-to-coast and in Europe and Israel. Each presentation of the Guild Academy will cover a unique topic associated with woodworking ranging from setting up your shop to the tools you use to finishing your workpieces. These sessions are open to the public; however, Guild members will have the chance to view recordings of any session they miss and receive special recognition from the guild after attending all nine sessions. This presentation is part of the Woodworkers Guild of Georgia's monthly meeting. Please know that there will be guild-related discussion and member show-and-tell at the beginning of the session that will last about 20-30 minutes.
