TRUMBULL, CT — Bane, the Trumbull Police Department's K-9 Officer, has returned to work, following emergency intestinal surgery earlier this month. The 3-year-old male German Shepherd is handled by Officer Greg Lee, and the two posed for a photo Monday on the department's Facebook page. Bane underwent the surgery in the first week this month, and the department successfully raised money to pay for the procedure through public donations. The K-9 serves the department in various capacities, such as the search and rescue of missing people, searching for crime suspects, and narcotics detection, according to officials said.
