Description
FRAMINGHAM, MA - Hundreds of volunteers with rakes and trash bags in hand are expected to participate in this year's Great Framingham Cleanup 2.0 beginning on April 9 in a quest for a litter free city.
This is the second annual cleanup effort cosponsored by Keep Framingham Beautiful (KFB), a chapter of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful. The two-week event starts on Saturday, April 9 and winds down on Friday, April 22. On Saturday, April 23, the cleanup will culminate with the 10th annual Framingham Earth Day Festival at the Framingham Centre Common from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During this two-week time frame, KFB will hold four group cleanups. However, individuals are encouraged to do small cleanups on their own or with friends in their neighborhood or their favorite city space.
For full details of the event and to sign up, visit the KFB website.
The goal of the event is for more than 500 people to pick up litter during the two-week event and sharing the pictures of their activities and progress on the KFB Facebook page. The group will be giving out superlatives for fun and creative pictures in the following categories:
● Most creative post
● Funniest picture
● Strangest object found
● Best before and after pictures
● Biggest haul
● Best group and best family efforts
● And many more that will be created based on the posts received
In addition to KBF, the Great Framingham Cleanup 2.0 is co-sponsored by the Framingham Earth Day Festival, Jack's Abby Craft Lagers, Chiropractic Solutions, FramBARK, and the Framingham DPW.
