Write letters and package books for individuals in prisons across Alabama and the country! Join Alabama Books to Prisons Project on Sunday, March 27th at 2PM at Burdock Book Collective to write letters to our pen pals in prisons in Alabama and around the country. All letter writing materials will be provided! We will also be packaging and addressing books from our collection of donated paperbacks. AL Books to Prisons aims to intervene in the isolation of prison life, connect folks through penpal-ship, and increase access to educational material by fulfilling book request. As queers and allies ourselves, we aim to provide a space for personal expression and communication free from homophobia and transphobia.
