Man Caught Breaking Into Vehicles In Hamden: Police

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after police said he was breaking into vehicles during the overnight hours last Thursday in Hamden. Police responded to the area of Helen Street and Glemby Street around 4:30 a.m. on March 17 on the report of someone breaking into vehicles, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan. Dolan said officers quickly responded to the neighborhood and found Samuel Brown. Brown was found to be in the possession of numerous items that were taken from vehicles in the neighborhood, according to Dolan. Brown, 46, was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of a $1,000 bond with a court date of April 4. In addition to the Hamden charges, Brown was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Orange for second-degree failure to appear, according to Dolan.
