Description

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Deputies in Stafford County recovered $7,500 in stolen goods and arrested three people after a series of thefts from sheds and garages in Hartwood. Authorities estimated that thieves stole $9,000 in goods through seven thefts. The thefts occurred between Feb. 27 and March 9, police said. The sheriff's office said that thieves stole chainsaws, weed eaters, leaf blowers, generators, and power tools. Investigators believed that the suspects then pawned the stolen items at shops in Spotsylvania County. The sheriff's office said detectives interviewed witnesses, examined pawn shop records, and interrogated suspects in the past few weeks. "The hard work paid off as over $7,500 of the estimated $9,000 worth of stolen property was recovered and returned to the assorted owners," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. Now, three Stafford residents face charges. Brandon Meade is charged with larceny with intent to sell. Nicholas Sciarra was charged with larceny with intent to sell, breaking and entering, larceny and trespassing. Gabrielle Bourne, 23, of Stafford was charged with trespass, conspiracy, grand larceny, false pretenses and receiving stolen goods. Meade and Sciarra were held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Bourne was released; her court date is scheduled for May 24. Have a story idea? Email me at [email protected] with tips, questions, comments, or concerns
