Description

HOWARD COUNTY, MD —The county public works department will be holding a public meeting April 4 to discuss draining the Manors of Oakwood Pond, located behind 4618 Chatsworth Way, and restoring the area to a natural vegetated state. Leaders also will discuss the Brampton Hills pond at 4715 Widdup Court, which will be retrofitted to accommodate removing a pond upstream and to bring the pond into compliance with current standards. The yet-to-be-named stream, located in an open space extending downstream approximately 800 feet behind several lots and beginning adjacent to 8504 Autumn Harvest, will be stabilized and restored to provide safe conveyance of water runoff. This project is expected to begin by winter 2022. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Columbia/Ellicott City Room of the George Howard Building, located at 3430 Court House Drive in Ellicott City. County staff and the project's design consultant, McCormick Taylor, will be on hand to answer any questions.
