PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police believe road rage contributed to a shooting that happened Saturday at about 5:45 p.m. along eastbound U.S. Route 50 at Veterans Parkway in Prince George's County.
According to a preliminary investigation, tow truck driver Delonte Hicks, 29, of Washington, D.C., argued with another driver while they were traveling on Route 50. The drivers of both vehicles were exchanging words when the second driver pulled out a weapon and fired into the tow truck.
The gunman continued eastbound on Route 50, police said.
The driver of the tow truck was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Police do not believe the victim and the gunman knew each other. The identity of the gunman is unknown.
