Press release from Greater Louisville, Inc.:
March 18, 2022
Today, the Kentucky House voted to pass House Bill 499 which would expand access to child care for working families in Kentucky. GLI president and CEO, Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, issued the following statement applauding the House:
"House Bill 499 is a much-needed step to address the childcare crisis Kentucky is facing right now. The bill will create a public-private partnership that will encourage employers to offer childcare assistance as a benefit to their employees and provide matching contributions with state funds. This is a vital step in solving the workforce shortage in the region, as childcare is one of the main factors keeping talent out of the workforce. We applaud the House for passing this legislation to expand childcare affordability across the state and urge quick passage by the Senate."
