Press release from the City of Reno: March 18, 2022 The City of Reno would like to advise the media and the public of traffic impacts in the neighborhoods in and around this year's Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation Projects. The projects are located in southwest Reno and include the Swope, Humboldt North, Humboldt South, and Watt neighborhoods. Construction has either begun, or will begin soon. More information on each project is included below: Swope Neighborhood Rehabilitation Project Construction Timeline: Monday, March 14, 2022 through May 2022 Project Area: (Road Closure Map) Balsam Street Joshua Drive Sherwood Drive (between Rowland Road and Idlewild Drive) Palm Circle Construction Timeline: Starting Monday, June 13, 2022, work will resume on Keele Drive until the end of July. This work is being performed during the Washoe County School District summer break. Project Area: Keele Drive (between Mayberry Drive and California Avenue) Project Description: Removal and replacement of approximately 1.1 miles of roadway and 1.3 miles of sidewalk and driveways in the surrounding vicinity of Swope Middle School Humboldt North Neighborhood Rehabilitation Project Construction Timeline: Monday, March 28, 2022 through June 2022 Project Area: Marsh Avenue St. Lawrence Avenue Humboldt Street Lander Street Project Description: Removal and replacement of approximately 1 mile of roadway, 1.1 miles of sidewalk and driveways, a half-mile of sewer main replacement, and a half-mile of alleyway improvements in the area south of California Avenue between Arlington Avenue and Plumas Street. Humboldt South Neighborhood Rehabilitation Project Construction Timeline: April 11, 2022 through July 2022 Project Area: Monroe Avenue Arroyo Street Pueblo Street Humboldt Street Lander Street Project Description: Removal and replacement of approximately 1.5 miles of roadway, 1.6 miles of sidewalk and driveways, 0.3 miles of sewer main replacement, and a half-mile of alleyway improvements in the area north of Mount Rose Street between Arlington Avenue and Plumas Street. Watt Neighborhood Rehabilitation Project Construction Timeline: Scheduled to start in July, after the completion of TMWA water main replacements and City of Reno storm drain improvements Project Description: Removal and replacement of approximately 1.3 miles of roadway, 1.3 miles of sidewalk and driveways, and 0.4 miles of sewer main replacement in the area just west of Virginia Lake Project Area: Watt Street Sunset Drive Bonnie Briar Place Morningside Drive Mountain View Drive Audubon Way Every effort will be made to minimize traffic inconveniences and to maintain appropriate signage to assure road safety in work areas.
