Joliet Crime Scene Tape On Plainfield Road

JOLIET, IL — Several Joliet police officers and members of the Joliet Fire Department converged upon Plainfield Road late Monday afternoon at Clara Avenue. Around 3:25 p.m., Joliet police sped to the parking lot in the 1100 block of Plainfield Road for a report of a person down. Officers found a man who appeared to have sustained serious injuries, according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English. The victim may have been struck by a vehicle, however, this remains under investigation, English told Joliet Patch. The man was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to AMITA St. Joe's hospital. Officers and detectives remained on the scene early Monday evening. Bob Hernandez of Joliet's Facebook Live went to the scene to produce a video showing police investigating the incident. Crime scene was placed around the parking lot of several nearby businesses that are part of a strip mall. Joliet Patch will update this article once more details are known.
