Travis County Elections is hiring experienced box truck drivers to perform safe delivery and recovery of voting equipment to and from election polling sites. Current or past CDL is desired but not required, but experience driving 26 ft box trucks up to 26,000 GVWR is a must. Applicant must have experience with loading/unloading using lift-gate systems. This is a temporary position that runs through April and May, with up to 30-40 hours per week with possible overtime. Payrate is $20 per hour. Flexible hours may be available.
Requirements for the position include the following:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Social Security Card or valid passport
- Ability to pass background check with a clean driving record
- Class A or B CDL is desired but not required
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Experience driving large box or trailer trucks
- Experience with loading/unloading of large cargo
