Description
TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Village Board of Trustees approved a collective bargaining agreement with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police Tinley Park Chapter 192, at the Board of Trustees meeting on Dec. 15.
In this agreement, patrol officers with the Tinley Park Police Department will receive a two-percent increase from May 2020. This includes two-percent for fiscal year 2022, 2.25 percent for 2023 and 2.55 percent for 2024.
Patrol officers will have to pay more towards their insurance premiums, according to the agreement. Contributions will increase to 11 percent in 2021 and go to 12 percent in 2022, the agreement states.
"I'm pleased that we've been able to come to an agreement that works for everyone," Village Manager Dave Niemeyer said. "I especially want to thank the men and women of our police department for their dedication throughout the year. We're a safer community because of their hard work."
Prior to the newest agreement, the previous collective bargaining agreement expired on April, 30 2020, according to the village. The new agreement was reached in early December, prior to being presented to the village board for a vote.
