Description
let's face it: if your family understood you, would you be on craigslist right now? no. if you're reading this, odds are your life path has gotten a little curly along the way. maybe you fell into the drug hole, or spent your 20's just a step ahead of poverty. maybe you've always been shy, and struggled to express yourself. maybe you've got the most common of all modern problems: you want so much from the world, despite daily reminders that our world is crooked and rotten and greedy and false. some people would turn to jesus or nfts over all this, or spend 40 years hiding in front of a tv. not us. now, make no mistake, we don't wanna deal with reality - yuck! ouch! boring! we're all about disappearing into a fantasy land. difference here is you don't have to be dead for this one. yes, that's right: it's the fantasy of being in a beloved rock band, a cult favorite. TODAY IS YOUR LUCKY DAY! HERE IS A CHANCE OF A LIFETIME! we've been playing together for awhile. we have some demos. you wouldn't exactly be coming in at the ground floor, but if you were to fall from the very top of what we have so far, well, you'd be able to walk it off. it's gonna take some work, but it's gonna be good. I can confidently say that people are going to like this band, because the great thing about the word people is that you only need a grouping of two or more for it to be an applicable term. beyond all that though, it's going to be fun. this isn't an art project - we wanna write catchy songs that make people move. so, what are we looking for? - intermediate skill level. you can play in time, own a decent rig and can pick up on simple songs relatively quickly - not a dick, creep, bigot or ego monster - as far as demographics go: anybody. at this point it seems kinda weird when everyone in the band is a white dude, right? like, did you fellas all meet in a country club locker room or what? - a wide musical palette. in this band we like the dead kennedys AND carole king, sonic youth AND de la soul, talking heads AND talk talk, big star AND kate bush. BONUS POINTS IF: - you can sing - you also play bass, and would be interested in swapping between the two on some songs (bassist is open to staying on as the bassist, or playing rhythm guitar) - you write songs - you play keyboards - we briefly had the idea of finding someone 70+ years old, and then we'd tell everyone they were our grandma or grandpa. Still think this would be fun, however unlikely. - you'd never buy a book called something disgusting like HOW TO SUCCEED IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IF INTERESTED (AND WHO WOULDN'T BE?!) send us an email and tell us a bit about yourself. ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW! ACT NOW!
