We have a Belgium Malinois, her birthday is May 7, 2021, she is spayed, and all her shots are current. She is house broke and understands most general commands that you would commonly use with a well-behaved dog. She has gorgeous markings; she is extremely intelligent and has a heart as big as she is. Basically, she is just awesome! I am looking for a home for her with someone who understands this bread. They are very high energy and loyal to a fault. They are used as service dogs in various fields because they need and enjoy having a job to do. This bread is also used for herding, as on a ranch. She would be very good for someone who has a large parcel of land where she can run and frolic. She would not do well in a subdivision type of living environment where she would not be able to expend the energy that needs to be spent during the day, so she sleeps well during the night. With all these great qualities you must be wondering why I am looking to rehome her. My husband and I are both retired, and we do not have the energy to keep up with her. We regrettably, did not know anything about this bread before we adopted her. We adopted her from someone who needed her rehomed immediately. We lost a dog a few months earlier and our golden doodle was pouting and depressed about losing his companion, so we thought this would be good for all of us. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, we didn’t know or understand anything about this bread. If we were younger, you couldn’t tear her away from us! We feel that we are doing her an injustice trying to convince ourselves that she will mature and settle down to the pace that we as seniors are living at. We are hoping to find someone who either has a Belgium Malinois and is looking for a companion, or at the very least someone who is familiar with this bread and can give her the time and attention that she so deserves.
