The City of Louisville is hiring Seasonal Golf Course Maintenance team members to maintain and mow Coal Creek Golf Course. This position works up to 40 hours a week with overtime available during the busy season from April 1 to October 31. Shifts start as early as 5:00 AM and may require work on some holidays and/or weekends. Please apply through out website at: This position is under the general supervision of the Golf Superintendent and perform work in maintaining the City's golf course grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, and painting. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as weed trimmers, tractors, riding mowers, hand mowers, and miscellaneous hand tools. Examples of Duties: - Perform mowing, trimming and pruning, - Maintain ground and irrigation system. - May perform some painting, carpentry, and masonry work. - Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. - Available at least one weekend day required. Education, Training, and Experience: - All candidates must be at least 18 years of age. - Candidates will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment physical, substance screen, background check, and positive reference checks prior to employment. - Some mowing, landscaping and/or irrigation experience preferred. - Previous golf course experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Able to utilize weed trimmer, tractors, mowers and miscellaneous hand tools. - Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures. - Ability and experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment and vehicles. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens and contractors.
