The City of Louisville is looking for motivated and versatile Seasonal Parks Maintenance Crew Members for the summer! Please apply through our website at: Under general supervision of Parks Supervisor and other full-time Parks staff, this role performs work maintaining the City's grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, painting, and other duties as required. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as a weed trimmer, lawn tractor, and miscellaneous hand tools. This role will work up to 40 hours per week until approximately mid-October and includes the opportunity to enjoy a 3 day weekend! Schedules are either: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM or Tuesday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Examples of Duties: - Perform mowing, trimming and pruning in City parks and lands. - Prepare and maintain City parks and other areas including picking up trash. - Assist in maintaining irrigation systems. - Perform some painting, carpentry, and masonry work. - Operate maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, hand mowers, weed trimmers, pruning tools, aerators, sprayers, and more. - Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities. - Perform routine repairs to facilities, restrooms, backstops, and fences. Preferred Knowledge and Experience: - Some degree of general mowing, landscaping, and/or irrigating experience. - Use of mower, weed trimmer, lawn tractor, skid steer, and miscellaneous hand tools. - Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures (will train). - Experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens, and contractors. - Knowledge of general landscaping maintenance. - Safe operation of equipment in rough, uneven, or slippery ground conditions. - Strenuous work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. - Experience working in City parks (preferred but not required). Requirements: - Some mowing, landscaping and/ or irrigation experience preferred. - All candidates must be 18 years of age. - Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver License and safe driving record for continued employment. Must have a good driving record for the last 3 years. - Must successfully pass a drug screen and a physical. Resumes and applications will not be accepted over email.
