The City of Louisville is looking for motivated and versatile Athletics Fields Maintenance Crew Members for the summer! Please apply through our website at: Under general supervision of Parks Supervisor and other full-time Parks staff, this role performs work maintaining the City's athletics fields by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, painting, and other duties as required. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as a weed trimmer, lawn tractor, and miscellaneous hand tools. This role offers a Monday - Friday flex schedule based on an 8-hour work day. Examples of Duties: - Perform mowing, trimming and pruning in City parks and lands. - Prepare and maintain City parks and other areas including picking up trash. - Assist in maintaining irrigation systems. - Perform some painting, carpentry, and masonry work. - Operate maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, hand mowers, weed trimmers, pruning tools, aerators, sprayers, and more. - Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities. - Perform routine repairs to facilities, restrooms, backstops, and fences. - Maintain athletics fields and related facilities for sports events. - Operate tractors, pick-up trucks, mowers, trimmers, UTVs and other equipment necessary in the maintenance of athletics fields. - Prepares football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball fields for play. Preferred Knowledge and Experience: - Some degree of general mowing, landscaping, and/or irrigating experience. - Use of mower, weed trimmer, lawn tractor, skid steer, and miscellaneous hand tools. - Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures (will train). - Experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens, and contractors. - Knowledge of general landscaping maintenance. - Safe operation of equipment in rough, uneven, or slippery ground conditions. - Strenuous work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. - Knowledge of athletic field surfaces, conditions, and playing field dimensions. - Experience working in City parks (preferred but not required). Requirements: - All candidates must be 18 years of age. - Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver License and safe driving record for continued employment. Must have a good driving record for the last 3 years. - Must successfully pass a physical and drug screen.
