POWAY, CA — Officials confirmed 100 new coronavirus cases Sunday in San Diego County, bringing the region's case count to 3,043. The total number of deaths in the county remained at 111. Of the cases, 27 have been in Poway. Since the coronavirus pandemic first came to the county, 696 people have been hospitalized due to the virus, with 227 placed in intensive care. A total of 44,935 COVID-19 tests have been conducted. Of 1,297 tests reported to the county Saturday, 8 percent were positive.
