ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man is facing felony charges after police in DuPage County said he crossed county lines to meet a person who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Noel Vascoit, 31, was charged with indecent solicitation of a child – aggravated criminal sexual abuse and traveling to meet a minor, according to a news release from DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick.

Vascoit was arrested after DuPage sheriffs conducted a week-long investigation into sexually inappropriate conversations between Vascoit and a girl who he thought was 14 years old, the release states.
Vascoit set up a meeting with the girl at a home in DuPage County, and he intended to sexually abuse her in his car, police said. He was arrested shortly after arriving at the home, according to police.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office ran the investigation with detectives from the Metropolitatn Emergency Response and Investigation Team, the release states.

Vascoit was released on bond, according to the release. He is due to next appear in court on Aug. 3.
