ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man was sentenced last week to serve up to four years in prison for hitting a police officer in the face while they were trying to arrest him.
Eric E. Ericson, 63, was convicted of aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a police officer. Kane County prosecutors said Ericson hit a St. Charles officer in the face in April 2019 while police were serving an arrest warrant against Ericson for violating a court order.
St. Charles North Grad Honored For Saving Neighbor's Life
Ericson will receive credit for serving 142 days in the Kane County jail between his arrest and his sentencing.

Ericson's trial was the first jury trial to be completed in Kane County since court returned to session after shutting down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
