Our company is searching for Diesel Mechanics that are skilled in but not limited to:
-Repairs and maintenance on diesel engines used to power rear and front load garbage trucks, roll off trucks, and smaller heavy duty vehicles
-Experience with hand tools, machine tools and precision measuring instruments
-Diagnostic ability, disassembling and the examination of engines/parts for defects and excessive wear
-Able to work independently under limited supervision
-Conduct regular preventative maintenance on all trucks (this includes inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes)
-Maintain cleanly parts inventory and shop space
-Collaboration with repair team to diagnose and plan repairs
-Recondition and replace parts (such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings)
-Weld and cut parts using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment
-Able to perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
-Able to conduct safety checks on vehicles
-Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
-Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
-Hydraulic hose replacement and repair
-Tire/brake replacement and repair
Candidate must have:
-Reliability based on employment history
-Two years of relevant work experience
-Legally eligible to work in the United States
-Class B CDL preferred
-Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
-Must have own tools
-Ability to keep work records and make reports
-Ability to read, understand, and find directions using street and road maps
-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
-Ability to work effectively with managers, coworkers and the general public
-Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
-Flexible work hours (Some Saturdays required)
