Description
Fleet Engineers are responsible for the upkeep and repairs of Argosy vessels and facilities. They have proven skills in mechanical thinking, solving problems, and task management. While many assignments are carried out individually, fleet engineers work as a team and collaborate to meet productivity goals, and keep the fleet and facilities operating in a safely and efficiently. Job Description: Responsible for projects assigned from start to finish Responsible for assessing Teams task list, personal duty list, and engineering channel daily. Prioritizes duty list by reviewing the Vessel Schedule for time frames to complete tasks. Assists in maintaining, repairing, modifying engines, generators, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, bar equipment, docks, restrooms/sanitation systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, office machines, and other equipment/facilities as assigned. Responsible for basic troubleshooting and assessing mechanical problems for issues on board the boats and facilities. Responsible for adhering to all Argosy & OSHA/WISHA safety knowledge, practice & procedures by reading and updating self of Maintenance Safety Manual. Responsible for preliminary assessment of conditions and damage to fleet and facilities and reporting issues to management. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements & Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Ability to speak, read, and write in clear English – communicate with others using English Ability to competently perform basic math functions 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical repair or engine maintenance 1-2 years’ experience in construction, building maintenance, shipyard maintenance or plumbing A current TWIC (Transportation Worker’s Identity Credential) card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire Pass a pre-employment drug test Pass a post-offer background check Physical Requirements Lift 60 pounds. Stoop and crouch around small spaces Excellent dexterity, able to manipulate tools Full range of motion in shoulders, elbows, hands, feet, ankles and knees.
