(City of Poway)Lake Poway Trout Season: Lake was stocked Thursday December 17th with 1,500 lbs of Rainbow Trout - Next stock December 31st The trout bite on the shoreline was slower on stock day but picked up Friday and during the weekend. North shore was good and the usual shoreline by the fishing Pier down to Half Moon had a lot of limits pulled out. Catfish are still biting off the Log-Boom, and the best bait is mackerel or worms. Best baits for trout have been mini jigs (natural colored or yellow / orange), spinners, and power bait. When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store. Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. When renting a boat everyone still must bring a face covering and wear it when required. Show picture ID at dock after renting a boat at concessions.
