Season: Now through mid-October Days: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) Hours: part-time, seasonal Daily Start Time: 8:00 AM Weekend hours approx. 8-10 hours per weekend average Where: Bridgeport CT Home Depot garden center We are Service First Merchandising Inc. a live goods merchandising company. We are contracted by the wholesale plant growers of Home Depot to merchandise the garden center. Our responsibility is mainly (but not limited to): 1. Set up and maintain plant displays 2. Some watering (Home Depot is responsible, but we pick up any slack) 3. Price-sign plant displays 4. Unpack plant deliveries onto tables and hanging basket rails (plants are delivered on rolling cars, no piece-by-piece unloading from the truck) 5. Track and report discarded plants Lifting Requirement: 5-20 pounds per piece on average (high piece counts) Other Physical Requirements: The rolling carts on which plants are delivered must also be pushed or pulled from place to place. The carts are large but roll fairly easy. NOTE: This is a fast-paced job during which there is no down time. Candidates should expect to be on their feet throughout the entire shift. There is NO customer service allowed with this position. This job is not for clock watchers. You begin work in the morning and work until you are finished. The time FLIES by that way, as opposed to jobs with downtime where you're bored watching the clock. This is a great job for anyone who prefers to work solo and outdoors.
