Description

A unique opportunity for wine lovers to share a special bottle of their own, and enjoy tasting what other enthusiasts have been cellaring. "You know, the day you open a '61 Cheval Blanc, that's the special occasion..." --SidewaysA one-of-a-kind wine tasting experience! There is much to celebrate - just being able to be together, our shared love of fine wines...and progress being made in the fight against cancer. On the afternoon of Saturday, April 23rd, we will gather around a collector's collection! Each guest is asked to contribute a special bottle of their own and in return will enjoy a rare sampling of other stunning, age-worthy wines. The venue is the beautiful Oregon Wine Reserve in Lake Oswego. Tickets are $50 each plus a library wine from your cellar. Guests should arrive between 2:30-3pm to have their bottle verified, tagged, opened, chilled and decanted as needed. A short welcome at 3pm will kickoff the tasting! A sommelier and other industry professionals will be available to answer wine questions and manage the pouring of the wines. Your bottle, including any wine remaining, will be returned to you at the end of the event. Snacks are included. The best wines will attract the best wines! After you confirm your ticket purchase, the organizers will contact you to collect information on the wine you plan to bring. This information will be shared with other guests in advance. We will ask for things like: Producer, Region, Vintage and VarietalA photo of the bottleShort story of how it came to be yoursAny other information you'd like to shareHere is what we consider to be a Library Wine for this event: Vintage - ideally the wine you bring will be 5+ years old, unless it is specifically NV.Value - Current retail value will be at least $50 (don't worry if you don't know this) Size - Minimum size is 750 ml unless agreed otherwise, for example smaller-format dessert-style wines. We are grateful to Oregon Wine Reserve and others in the community for their incredible support for this event. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org). Every dollar raised helps fund patient services, education and life-saving blood cancer research. The impact of their work goes far beyond blood cancer to help patients battling other forms of cancer and serious illnesses including heart disease and autoimmune disorders.
