Description
An event exclusively for individuals who were affected by the Marshall Fire to focus on healing and building "home" again. On 12/30/21 nearly 1000 families suddenly found themselves without homes as a historic wildfire ripped through a beautiful, vibrant suburban community. Hundreds more were displaced with many having to strip their homes of their precious belongings contaminated with toxic smoke and ash. Since that day these individuals and families have had to focus on the essentials: the things they need to keep moving forward. For many, money is tight and they can't even think about non-essentials! Well, this event is for you all. We want to help you toward the next step of recovery: focusing on what you WANT and helping you build a space you can call home. This event will allow you to get beautiful, mature house plants and shop for goods made by local artisans and makers to warm your home and hopefully help make the days a little more joyful. We will also have live music and food at the event to try and give you a few hours away from the stress so you can focus on "me time." Of course it will all be completely free for the warriors fighting the physical and emotional battles of the aftermath of this horrible tragedy every day. We will be sending out a survey soon to help us understand the kinds of goods attendees are interested in so we can source the donations from the community. Please look for more information in the near future! *ONE ticket per household please! This event is quite limited. Each household will be able to take multiple items however! * Please note this even is only for verified individuals who are part of the Marshall Fire Community Facebook group. We will be checking that all who sign up are verified. If you need to be verified, please visit https://www.marshallfirecommunity.com/ and if you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] Are you a community member who was not directly affected by the fire and want to help? Please reach out to [email protected] for information about how to help our verified families. Help shine a light in the darkness so many are living in. Thank you so much for your support.
