Description
PLEASANTON, CA — A vegetation fire was sparked Monday evening in Pleasanton amid a period of windy and dry weather in the East Bay.
The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department confirmed a report of a fire in the area of Bernal and Pleasanton Avenues around 5:45 p.m. and extinguished it within an hour.
News of the fire comes as much of the East Bay remains under a red flag warning, which means wildfire could spread quickly under current conditions. Many Bay Area residents remain under a public safety power shutoff, which the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. issued to minimize the chances of a utility equipment-sparked wildfire.
