U.S. wasnt "Oil Independent" in 2019-20 or for that matter --EVER 2019 we imported 3.3 Billion Barrels, have of that came from Canada & Mexico 2020 the numbers were slightly down but still close to 3 Billion barrels demand down (Covid) worldwide, especially big consumers aka China. Simple 10th grade Economics....Demand & Supply... just like other commodities on global Markets
