Description
Civil Air Patrol; Squadron 302 Host; sUAS Training OverviewField training with sUAS. Students will be flying aircraft and drilling operational procedures central to the 5U and 91U Body of Knowledge . Skydio 2 and Mavic Air drones will be provided by CAP. Personal-owned drones may be used if the owner fills out a Hold Harmless Agreement (HHA) ahead of the event. DetailsOPSS Tracking # 2021040 Target Audience: Students who have entered the AZWG sUAS Training Pipeline and are working towards 5U/91U qualification and endorsement. Curriculum Requirements: Students will be actively studying and working their way through the AZWG Drone Wiki's Aircrew Training sections for CAPF 5U Ground School. Travel Arrangement: Van ride is available from Squadron 302 Base (990-1042 W Deer Valley Rd) at 0830 hours. After that, members should use their POV to arrive and leave directly from Coyote Basin. Food/Water: Park fountain available. Please bring your own snacks, lunch and water to the event. Alternatively, groups may travel to the nearby Costco for refreshment if at least one Costco member is present with them. Restrooms: Park does not have restrooms, but the nearby Costco will allow non-members to use the restroom if you ask at the door. Also, if a Costco member is with the group, they can get people in as guests no problem. PARKING! - Do not parking in the main lot at Coyote Basin. Park at the nearby Costco on the far-east side of their parking lot, along the fence line. (Refer to map in pictures below) Uniform of the Day Cadets: ABUs; may de-blouse on the flight-line if hot.Seniors: Corporate, ABU, BB DressCOVID Precautions: Activity Directors will check COVID phase at the CAP COVID-19 Remobilization Page and conduct precautions IAW AZWG guidance. RSVP: Get a ticket through Eventbrite. Pre-Requisites---General--- 1. Senior members must have achieved Level 1; Cadets must have achieved Curry. 2. All cadets must bring a signed CAPF 60-80 permission slip with, or have previously submitted a CAPF 60-80 designated as "Perpetual" to the Activity Directors. 3. Pass the TRUST Exam and carry proof on your person at each event. ---Cadets from squadrons outside 302--- 4. Per CAPR 60-1, 8.1.3; Cadets participating in activities outside their home squadron must get approval from their home squadron's commander first. Activity Timeline0830-1000: Van leaves squadron base, travel to location, setup 1000-1500: General Flight Operations 1600-1700: Debriefing, Teardown and RTB.
