Learn all the ins and outs of raised bed edible gardening from the ground up! Learn all the ins and outs of raised bed edible gardening from the ground up - literally! - from our Service department's lead edible gardener, Dina Kountoupes! From soil health, to sustainable design, to installation, Dina will even guide you through which veggies, flowers, and herbs are the best companions to beautifully fill a raised bed garden. This class will be outside, so please dress for the weather. Protection from precipitation will be available, but make sure you are dressed to stay warm, or cool... who knows what kind of weather late April will be throwing at us! More about Dina... After working and doing research in Costa Rica for 5 years in sustainable farming, natural resource management and environmental education, Dina came to the Twin Cities to pursue a Masters of Science at the University of MN in Environmental Education and sustainable agriculture. After graduating she worked in urban gardening youth programs and nature centers as well as writing school gardening curriculums. In 2010, she was a backyard farmer and garden educator for PRI Cold Climate's Backyard Harvest Program. She then turned that program into her own gardening design, consulting, and installation business called Harvest Moon Edible Landscapes.
