Hey, neighbors! Andrew Tessler here with the latest Huntington Daily. First, today's weather: Partly sunny and windy. High: 59 low: 43. Here are the top stories today in Huntington: Huntington Town Board appoints Angel Cepeda as Community Development Agency Director. The board voted 4-1 to appoint Cepeda, with Councilwoman Joan Cergol coming in as the only vote against Cepeda. She sighted his lack of experience in housing as her reason to vote against him. "It defies best hiring practices to appoint anyone to a key town role without the requisite training, skills, or work history," Cergol said. "I wish Mr. Cepeda well, but I remain concerned with the steep learning curve he will be facing in the days, weeks, and months to come in a position where we needed someone to hit the ground running." (http://www.huntingtonNow.com)ICYMI: Town Board approved bond on Tuesday for Walker Park improvements. The Huntington Town Board approved up to $1.2 million in bonding to improve the park. The changes and money will go towards a new playground, renovated basketball court, art, trees, adult workout equipment, and more. "An "Alfred J. Walker Art Walk" will feature Walker's cartoons and art as well. "The family conveyed this was the most important aspect of the proposed improvements," said town spokeswoman Lauren Lembo.
