Here are the top three stories in Franklin today: Many Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) members have experienced financial hardships related to the pandemic. MTE's charitable foundation SharingChange has stepped up to provide energy assistance to members needing help. Since Oct. 1, 2021, SharingChange has provided $25,000 in energy assistance funding for members in Cannon, Rutherford, Williamson, and Wilson counties. The Tennessee Valley Authority's Community Care Program has matched these funds to bring the total energy assistance funding for MTE members to $50,000. (Williamson Source) Franklin Police have arrested two in the 2020 murder Of Jamarcus Esmon. Franklin Detectives discovered evidence and presented it to a Grand Jury identifying 23-year-old Kiontez Waters as the shooter. That same Grand Jury heard investigator testimony against 32-year-old Stephanie Holt and indicted her for aiding Waters following Esmon's murder.
