The office will not be open to the public or answering phone calls or emails for the day of April 5. The Treasurer's Office will be open for all of the other business days of the week of April 4. The Administration Building will be open, but the Treasurer's staff will be attending a training session with fellow county treasurer offices, the Iowa Department of Transportation, and the Iowa Department of Revenue. Treasurer Ted Rasmusson stated, "We want to apologize to anyone this closure inconveniences. The laws, rules, and regulations that our office must follow frequently change and evolve. This training session will help us ensure we are up to date on all law changes, while giving us the opportunity to learn best practices from our state agency partners and neighboring treasurer offices. Continuing education is a major factor in achieving our goal of operating in the most effective, accurate, and efficient manner possible."
