Man In His 80s Is Collingswood's 10th Coronavirus Death

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — A Collingswood man in his 80s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Tuesday. Two Collingswood residents were among 19 new cases of the coronavirus reported on Tuesday. The Collingswood cases included two women, in their 30s and 70s. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases. It is the fewest number of new cases reported in the county since there were 14 reported on March 26, according to the county's coronavirus dashboard. The report comes seven days after the county reported 23 new cases last Tuesday, which had been the lowest reported number of new cases since March 21. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families," Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. "We can't lose sight of this fight for even one day. Although our cases are down and much of our economy is reopening, this progress can be quickly undone if we do not continue to strictly adhere to the recommendations of our public health experts. Managing this crisis will be much more like running a marathon than a sprint, but we can get to the finish line if we work together to prevent the spread of this deadly disease." As of Tuesday, there are 110 cases of the coronavirus in Collingswood with 10 confirmed deaths. There are 7,408 cases in Camden County, with 416 confirmed deaths. There are 1,270 cases among residents in the county's 56 long-term care facilities, with 283 confirmed deaths.
